GIS Solutions Manager

Summary:
The GIS Solutions Manager manages all aspects of GIS, including cartography, data manipulation, geographic information analysis, and database management for wind, solar, transmission, and energy storage project development.
This role will be hybrid requiring a minimum of 3 days in office.
Requirements:
- Manages GIS services within RES, including day-to-day activities, tactical and strategic planning, and provides support for work done by the GIS and Automation teams.
- Ensures quality of GIS products and data.
- Works with various divisions within RES to identify geospatial data, maps, and application requirements. Interfaces with other systems and data stores within RES as necessary.
- Develops and manages all data development, data update, and quality assurance activities related to enterprise GIS.
- Becomes the primary data steward for North American GIS data.
- Researches new GIS technologies and implements technology per industry best practices.
- Evaluates GIS policies, procedures, and standards within the organization.
- Works with Global teams to develop standards and practices that work across regions.
- Implements long-term strategic planning for GIS in alignment with RES initiatives.
- Ensures that GIS workplan is in alignment with IT initiatives and plans.
- Oversees database maintenance, enhancements, and permissions, as well as Enterprise GDB data design.
- Oversees publication of data to ArcGIS Server, Portal, and ArcGIS online.
- Provides training to GIS and organizational staff as needed.
- Facilitates installation, maintenance, and support of desktop GIS software including ArcGIS Pro, Global Mapper, and ArcGIS Earth.
- Implements long-term strategic planning for GIS in alignment with RES initiatives.
- Performs mapping and analysis workflows as needed to support day-to-day operations.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge of Python scripts to complete work assigned.
- Works with various methods to interchange CAD data with GIS data.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Cartographic Science, or related field required.
- 5 or more years of experience managing GIS projects, or equivalent experience required.
- 5 or more years of experience deploying and configuring an ArcGIS Server environment required.
- 2 or more years' experience overseeing a team of GIS professionals required.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 16 to 30% required.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
- Expert knowledge of GIS principles and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and other software and license extensions within the ESRI ecosystem.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS including Microsoft SQL server.
- Working knowledge of ArcPy, ModelBuilder, and/or FME.
- Working knowledge of cloud systems, including Azure and GCS.
- Knowledge of web application languages, including JavaScript preferred but not required.
- Skill in processing, storing, and managing large GIS datasets preferred.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop creative solutions.
- Resource organization, delegation, and establishing priorities.
- Functional competencies include accountability, building strategic partnerships, business acumen, communication, ethics, and integrity.
Anticipated base salary range: $113,000 - $142,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
